The ask
Not a client this time, my own bet. Leaplines set out to build education software, and I co-founded it and ran the technical side.
What I did
- Everything a CTO of a small company does: architecture, code, hiring, product decisions, and the board deck
- Built and led the engineering team; kept GraphQL APIs running in production for years
- Learned the founder lessons you can’t get billing by the hour
How it went
Years of production software and a team I’m still proud of. Being on the founder side of the table permanently changed how I consult: I scope like an owner, not a vendor.
